Biography
Sarah Jane Morris, the daughter of a pilot and a social worker was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the youngest of four children. Her parents are very supportive of the arts, and from a young age she was performing in musical theatre and studying ballet. She also studied classical voice from age 12 until she went away to college at Southern Methodist University. She graduated from SMU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a minor in French, which allowed her to spend a semester living in Paris. After graduation, she moved to L.A. with dreams of becoming an actress, but not a clue about where to begin. During her first week in L.A., she managed to get a commercial agent and booked her first commercial audition. She began studying acting and realized she had a love for the dramatic arts. She started modeling as well, and after about a year of living in L.A. she was able to support herself solely on income from commercials, print work and the occasional guest spots.
Sarah Jane Morris currently stars as Julia Walker on the hit ABC drama Brothers & Sisters. Previous television credits include recurring roles on Windfall, Felicity (When Sarah returned to L.A. after two months of working as a model in Tokyo, she booked a recurring role on Felicity and continued to study acting) and Boston Public, as well as guest appearances on Cold Case, Ed, Dark Angel and Judd Apatow's Undeclared.
